The proposed framework combines several forms of evaluation rather than relying on a single source of feedback. Comparing patterns across observations, surveys, interviews, and formative testing can build a fuller picture of visitor experience and reveal where findings reinforce (or complicate) one another.

Factory Obscura | Audience Evaluation
& Experience Planning

Audience Evaluation | Visitor Experience | Accessibility | Decision Support
Graduate evaluation proposal developed through Johns Hopkins University Museum Studies.

Organization: Factory Obscura — an Oklahoma City immersive arts organization centered on participatory, multisensory experiences.

Project Type: Graduate audience-evaluation proposal

Question:
How might current visitor behavior and feedback inform future visitor-experience planning at Factory Obscura?

Approach:
Combined naturalistic observation with analysis of visitor feedback and reviews to identify recurring audience patterns, then developed a proposed mixed-method evaluation framework for deeper investigation.

What emerged
Recurring patterns around interaction, navigation, accessibility, social behavior, and the different ways visitors participate in the experience.

Proposed Evaluation Framework:
Structured Observation → Online Survey → Exit Interviews → Formative Storyline Testing

Application:
Use audience evidence to inform recommendations for visitor experience, accessibility, future planning, and expansion decisions.
