“Never Stop Dreaming, the Sky is the Limit...” is a sculptural shade structure where color, light, and shadows play and fly to unfold a world of possibilities through a sculptural arrangement of recognizable origami airplane figures.
Never Stop Dreaming; the sky is the limit
Big Idea:
Site-specific public art can turn shared history into inspiration for the future, helping young minds take flight by connecting learning, dreaming, and play.
A Flight toward Possibility
Soaring above the Capitol Hill Library, this colorful canopy of aluminum and steel invites visitors to look up, wonder, and dream. Inspired by Oklahoma’s first airplane flight—launched on this very site in 1910—the sculpture fuses history with playfulness, transforming origami-inspired forms into symbols of imagination, learning, and lift-off.
Rooted in Local Identity
Created by Beatriz Mayorca and funded through Oklahoma City’s 1% for Art ordinance, Never Stop Dreaming reflects the layered identity of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. With references to aviation, education, and the area’s rich Hispanic heritage, the artwork bridges disciplines—math, science, art—honoring the library’s role as a place of growth while casting shadows of possibility for all who gather beneath it.
